Wedding Announcements & Thank You Cards for an Old-Fashioned Southern Wedding

I recently completed a project with a very creative friend of mine, and wanted to share the results with all of you.  Katie got married in August, and had been trying to come up with a design that would serve as both a thank you card and a wedding announcement.  She and her husband Jake had a small wedding on Sea Island (off the southern coast of Georgia), and wanted family and friends that were unable to come to the wedding to see photos from their special day.  Katie is uniquely creative and loves things that look old and timeworn.  She created her own wedding invitations using French artisan paper, which she tore the edges on for an old-fashioned look.  For her thank you cards and announcements, we decided to do the same thing since the French paper was so beautiful.  I came up with a few designs for her, and she settled on one that incorporated a large oak tree, spanning the entire design of the 5x7 card.  Katie also loves butterflies, so we put a couple "fluttering" in the oak tree.  After the cards were printed, we hand-tore the edges using a ruler as a guide.  Next, we mounted a photo montage (wedding photos courtesy of Sarah Eubanks Photography) using kraft paper photo corners.  We were both really pleased with the final result.  Here are a few pictures Katie took of the assembled cards:

Don't you just love those edges?!
